Copyright and Other Rights Requests

Effective date: October 16, 2026

Contact us if you believe material available through ScentCompass infringes your rights. Identify the material, its location, the right involved, and information sufficient for us to understand and assess your request. General privacy requests should be sent to privacy@scentcompass.com and are handled under our Privacy Policy.

Our contact for copyright notices and counter-notices is:

Haystack Group LLC
6339 Charlotte Pike #759
Nashville, TN 37209
United States

Email: dmca@scentcompass.com

A notice under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act should contain:

  • Your physical or electronic signature and identification of the copyrighted work, or a representative list where appropriate.
  • Identification of the material claimed to infringe and enough information to locate it, such as the exact page address and relevant passage or image.
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and email address, sufficient to contact you.
  • A statement of your good-faith belief that the complained-of use is not authorized by the rights owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right allegedly infringed.

Consider whether a license, fair use, or another legal authorization applies before submitting a notice. We may request information needed to evaluate a notice and may remove or restrict material while reviewing it. We address qualifying notices expeditiously under applicable law.

Counter-notices

If material you supplied was removed or disabled because of a copyright notice and you believe this resulted from a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the contact above. Include your signature; identification of the material and where it appeared; your name, address, and telephone number; and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith that the removal or disabling resulted from mistake or misidentification.

Also state that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district in which your address is located or, if you are outside the United States, any federal judicial district where the service provider may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the original notifying party or its agent.

Where the statutory counter-notice process applies, we may forward the counter-notice to the notifying party and restore the material between 10 and 14 business days after receipt unless we receive notice of a filed court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement. A separate lawful reason for restricting material may remain relevant. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice can expose the sender to liability under applicable law.

Other rights and handling of requests

For a trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights concern, identify the specific material and explain the right and your authority to assert it. Supporting information may be needed; a copyright notice is not the correct process for every kind of concern.

We may disclose a request and relevant contact information to the person who supplied the material, advisers, providers, or authorities where reasonably necessary and legally permitted to evaluate the matter or follow a required process. Do not include unrelated sensitive information. Appropriate records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may remove or restrict content without admitting liability. We may limit or terminate access in appropriate circumstances for repeat infringement. Submitting a request does not guarantee the outcome you seek or waive either party's rights. The statutory requirements and available remedies control where applicable.
