Projection

The radius of scent around the wearer at a given moment.

Projection refers to how strongly a fragrance broadcasts in the immediate area around the wearer. A fragrance can have heavy projection for thirty minutes and then settle into a skin scent — projection and longevity are independent attributes. Most modern designer compositions emphasize projection in the opening; many niche compositions hold projection longer.
