GLOSSARY

Sillage

The trail of scent left in the wearer's wake.

Sillage (French for 'wake') describes how far a fragrance projects into the air around the wearer over time. Distinct from longevity (how long it lasts on skin) and projection (the radius at any moment), sillage is most often measured at arm's length and beyond, and is heavily influenced by humidity, fabric, and skin chemistry.
