Amber

No amber oil exists to extract, so perfumers compose the note from vanilla, benzoin and labdanum, and it wears as a golden, resin-sweet glow.

Everyday reference
It recalls the warm, sweet air around a vanilla candle that has burned for an hour.
Versus Ambroxan
Ambroxan has almost no sugar and smells of dry wood and sea air, while amber is round, syrupy and resinous.
What to smell for
On skin, give it an hour: amber grows deeper and more powdery as the brighter top notes fade.
