Neroli

Named after a French-born princess of Nerola, near Rome, in the 1600s, neroli is the distilled oil of bitter orange flowers, greener and more citrusy than most white flowers.

Everyday reference
It is like a breeze through an orange grove in spring bloom.
Versus Orange blossom
Orange blossom comes from the very same flowers, but solvents pull out a heavier, honeyed scent that distillation misses.
What to smell for
Notice a clean, slightly bitter floral note that sparkles during the first hour.
