Contribution Guidelines
Effective date: October 16, 2026
These guidelines apply when a ScentCompass feature allows you to submit or publish content. Not every type of contribution is available through every feature. Information saved through a private feature is not made public merely because these guidelines discuss public contributions.
Be truthful and relevant
Describe experiences honestly, distinguish your opinions from factual claims, and submit material relevant to the feature you are using. Do not fabricate personal experiences, impersonate another person, coordinate deceptive ratings, or present promotional content as independent opinion. Clearly disclose a material commercial connection when the law requires it.
Respect rights and privacy
Submit only material you have the right to provide. Do not include another person's private or confidential information, infringing material, unlawful threats, harassment, malicious content, or spam. Do not put sensitive personal information into ordinary fragrance notes or searches.
How contributions may be handled
We may evaluate, organize, edit, decline, restrict, or remove contributions for relevance, quality, safety, legal compliance, or other reasons consistent with our Terms and applicable law. We may use automated tools and human review; we do not undertake to read or verify every contribution. We do not remove or suppress an honest consumer review merely because it is negative where doing so would violate applicable law.
Our Terms of Use explain the permissions you grant for contributions, including the different treatment of private and public content. Our Privacy Policy explains personal-information handling and your choices. A contribution does not guarantee publication, attribution, compensation, or a particular effect on the site.
